What’s UPSC?
It’s an independent indigenous body established on October 1, 1926 directly according to the constitution. It’s the primary body under the Government of India which conducts examinations to retain campaigners for All India Services, Central Services and Central homes Civil Services. UPSC conducts public position examination for 24 services under Central and State Government of India. Composition and Structure of UPSC
The UPSC consists of a Chairman and other members appointed by the President of India. There’s no specific limit for the composition of the commission. The commission generally consists of nine to eleven members. The Constitution doesn’t mention any specific qualification for class of the commission, still it’s that half of the members of the commission should be persons who have held office for at least ten times either under the Government of India or under the Government of a State. State. The Chairman and members remain in office for a period of 6 times or until they reach the age of 65.
