CDS Full Form: Valour, Glory, Sacrifice & Duty – The Indian Army is the embodiment of the highest values that India stands for as a country. From the icy landscape of Siachen to the arid deserts of Rajasthan, the Indian Army acts as a shield for more than a billion lives in our country, protecting us from all the external threats that continue to haunt our borders, and CDS is one way to get in the Army as officer, The full form of CDS is combined defense services, the exam is conducted twice a year and those who qualify are interviewed by SSB, the exam is conducted to get into the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force.
CDS Full Form: CDS Exam Pattern
For the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Air Force Academy, the written examination consists of three sections:
(1) English, (2) General Knowledge and (3) Elementary Mathematics. The duration of each exam is 2 hours and each exam carries 100 marks.
For the Officers Training Academy, the written examination consists of two parts: (1) English, (2) General Knowledge. Also for OTA the duration of each exam is 2 hours and each exam carries 100 marks. CDS exam conducted in offline mode. The question paper consists of multiple choice questions.
CDS Full Form: CDSE Marking System
it is important to know the marking scheme of the exam as it helps the candidates to attempt the questions wisely. In CDSE, 1 mark is awarded for each correct answer and 0.33 marks is deducted for each wrong attempt. If two answers are marked for one question. It will be considered as faulty and negative marks will be deducted.
Once you clear the written exam for CDS, the next step is SSB which is conducted after a month or two (depending on the academy you are applying for)
SSB is a five day process (for air force it’s six when they do pabt) where they check whether you are fit for the forces or not i.e. you have officer qualities in you.
Once you are recommended by the SSB board, the next step is medical treatment, which is done by army doctors at an army hospital.
After you are declared medically fit by the hospital medical board, you will have to clear all merit list which will be generated considering your written marks and ssb marks.
If your name appears in the merit list, you will be given instructions for joining and will be asked to report to the applied academy with the required documents on the specified date.
